The next day in St. Louis, we visited the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, and it completely exceeded our expectations.
This is truly one of the most stunning cathedrals we’ve ever seen outside of Italy. The sheer size and grandeur of the basilica are breathtaking, but what makes it truly special is its interior filled with intricate mosaics. Covering over 83,000 square feet, these mosaics depict biblical scenes, saints, and religious symbols in incredible detail, making it one of the largest collections of mosaic art in the world.
Walking through the cathedral, we were in awe of the craftsmanship and the sense of peace and reverence that filled the space. Photos don’t do it justice—this is a place you have to experience in person to fully appreciate its beauty and artistry. If you’re ever in St. Louis, we highly recommend taking the time to visit this architectural masterpiece.
