From Deadwood, we headed towards our primary destination for the day: Devils Tower. Like many others, my first encounter with this awe-inspiring monument was through the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Once we realized we’d be so close, it quickly became a must-see on our trip. The Tower is beyond incredible—no photo can truly capture the sheer size and grandeur of the structure. Standing there in person, surrounded by its towering presence, was an experience that words and images just can’t fully convey.

After leaving Devils Tower, we continued our journey west toward Jackson, Wyoming. However, with the temperatures dipping low, we decided to play it safe and took a more cautious route through the northwest, traveling through Montana. From there, we passed through West Yellowstone before finally heading south into Jackson. This detour gave us more options for Supercharger stations along the way, making the trip a little smoother and more convenient.
